My friends' son plays in the Majors... NBD

WAY back in May... my co-workers' son was called up to the Majors!!!! Adley was an OSU Beavers star and then the No. 1 MLB draft pick. But then COVID hit, and his big-league debut was put on hold.

This season, we've been anxiously awaiting the news. Sports writers speculated. Baltimore fans hoped. An injury delayed his much-anticipated moment.

BUT THEN... I was checking social early on May 21 when I saw that Adley Rutschman had been called up!!!!

I don't know Adley, but I've known his father, Randy, since he was my teacher in 9th grade at Twality Junior High. His wife, Carol, taught my sister math at Tigard High. And we've all worked together at THS since!

And as a super bonus - Rutsch and Mojo (how we know them at THS) are the sweetest people you'd ever know!

My fam gathered at Eryn's house to watch Adley's first Big-League game.

Rutsch, Mojo, and Adley's sister, Josie, got LOTS of air time on the Orioles broadcast:
Mojo and Josie were really animated. Rutsch looked really nervous. 😂

First at-bat:
No. 35:
The Orioles fans were going NUTS! They all hope Adley will help turn the team around. They gave him a very warm welcome!

I'm so happy for Rutsch and Mojo, who get to see their son live his dream. I can't wait to see what he does. GO ORIOLES! ⚾
