Year of Hiking 2026: Nos. 1 - 5

This is my seventh year taking on the 52-Hike Challenge

A hike challenge where you will gain physical fitness, mental well-being, make new friends, explore new places, and connect with family, friends and yourself through nature.

I use it as a prompt to get outside more and explore new places. My own personal rules: I count unique trails/routes (unique to the current year) and each trek has to be at least 1 mile.

Let's go!!!

No. 1 - Fanno Creek Trail and Greenway Neighborhood, Jan. 3:

No. 2 - Wildwood ➡️ Lower Macleay ➡️ Tunnel ➡️ Cumberland ➡️ Wildwood  ➡️ Japanese Garden ➡️ MAC ➡️ Wildwood ➡️ Holly, Jan. 9:

No. 3 - Bayocean Spit, Jan. 19:

No. 4 - Bob and Crystal Rilee Park:

No. 5 - Eastbank Esplanade → Springwater Corridor → Tom McCall Waterfront Park, Jan. 31:

Not bad for the first month! Lots more trails to come :)
