Our silence does not reflect a lack of awesome adventures... just a broken computer :(
I have a borrowed laptop but can't plug in my camera. Soon, hopefully (dang Vista!!), I'll have some fun stories and pictures to share.

Happy Birthday, Tracie!
Cookie Day: Peppermint Bark
Erika is about to graduate. She shares my love of food and baking (she's a pie expert!), so we decided to create something before she leaves (CE)2.

Recipe from Kraft:
6 squares semi-sweet baking chocolate
6 squares white baking chocolate
1 cup crushed peppermint candies/candy canes
Microwave to chocolate in separate bowls until melted, stirring halfway. Stir 1/2 cup of peppermint candies into each bowl. Alternately spoon melted chocolates onto a wax paper-lined cookie sheet. Swirl chocolates together with a knife to marbleize.
Refrigerate 1 hour or until firm. Break into pieces and eat!

Insanity
Albert Einstein said insanity was doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Over the past many years, my friend has repeatedly asked me (and others) to do the same thing. Each time, I (we) struggle. Each time, he becomes frustrated and annoyed and rolls his eyes. Each time. I believe that my friend is insane.

My special book
At my high school, yearbooks arrived in the fall. So at the end of each school year, many students brought in cool journals for their friends to sign. I was just rearranging some books and decided to flip through my three special books from 1992, 1993 and 1994.
This one's from my senior year:
This is the entry from my long-time friend, Jared:
I'd been in school with Jared since 2nd grade. Our families lived in the same neighborhood. We attended the same youth group at Tigard Church of God. We planned to go to George Fox College in the fall. We were both assigned to Pennington dorm. His soon-to-be roommate was, apparently, a guy from Vancouver named Brad Wood. Brad was bringing a popcorn popper.
On moving day in August 1994, I ran to room #203 on the men's side of Pennington to see my friend, the only familiarity at this strange new place. That's when I met Brad. Pretty cool story, huh?! :)
