Century Club!

In Peloton land, joining the Century Club is a big deal (100 classes). If you're lucky, the instructor will even call out your name during a live class! Then you get a celebratory email (below) and a coupon code for a free shirt.

Our Peloton bike arrived in early December, and we immediately dug in to all the fitness courses they offer. Then when January rolled around, there was a challenge to kick off the new year with one class every day. Because I LOVE a good challenge, I was 100% in.

But on many days, that class was just a stretch before bed. I do lots and lots of activities, and there is no way I can ride the bike every day. My legs wouldn't have it, and I would also get super bored.

I love to stack strength and cardio classes and end with a good stretch. And since I still aim for at least one class a day, even on run days I usually do a stretch right on the front porch when I get home.

I got an email last night welcoming me to the Century Club!!! ... in stretching!

It seemed so anticlimactic - no live class, no friends to cheer me on... and I didn't earn my shirt on the famous Peloton bike! I almost didn't want to share...

But you know what? I'm darn proud of that accomplishment!

I've never been one to stretch much, even as a distance runner. My flexibility is crap, and I never took time to work on my muscles in that way. That January challenge got me moving in a new way, and I'm so glad! I now add a stretch to most every workout.

Someday I'll get my century ride, and that will be awesome. But I'm pretty stoked to be killin' it with the stretching!

The Peloton app is so great! Try it out 👍
