Last run, first run

Though I was on vacation, I was up at 5 a.m. Tuesday for our last run of the year. Brad had to work, so we had to hit the pavement by 6 a.m. 

Cousin Kenny joined us for about 3.5 rainy miles. Dedication!

My fam came over for some New Year's Eve dinner, movie and chatting, then we hit the hay before midnight.

Since we got a good night's sleep, we got up Wednesday to start off the year right with the first run of 2014.

We met up at Tryon Creek State Park for some trail work. Mom and Eryn did a walk/run(!) while Brad and I did a very hilly 5.55-mile run. That was a butt burner! Haven't done hills in a long time.

Felt so great to be out and get a little muddy.

After some hot showers, we met up at Elmer's for celebratory New Year's pancakes. YUM!

Can't wait to see what 2014 brings :)
