In 2020, I unofficially signed up for the 52 Hike Challenge, meant to help get people outdoors and exploring.
"A challenge where you will gain physical fitness, mental well-being, make new friends, explore new places, and connect with family, friends and yourself through nature."
COVID hit a few months later, and I ended the year with exactly 52 trails (a great accomplishment, all things considered!)
In 2021, I got 79!
But I spent this spring and summer marathon training, so I didn't get on the trails as much. Still, I got 60!
We took a Wood-family trip to Vermont right before Christmas and worked in a very short jaunt on the Appalachian Trail. I think it was my first time on the AT! I sure wish I had more time to explore while we were there!
No. 59 - Thundering Falls, Dec. 20:
(Photos never adequately capture waterfalls)My last trail of the year was a winter trek up Angel's Rest. I went early on a really crappy weather day and had the trail all to myself - my favorite!
Happy trails! 💗
