Let's Play Hawkey!!

Brad won Winterhawk tickets through his company's raffle, so Thursday was date night for us!

The Winterhawks hold a special place in our hearts: Our first date was a game in 1994!

I was glad the game was in the Coliseum, because Hawks games in the Rose Garden are just not the same! And in case you're wondering if they've upgraded the seats in the Coliseum...

They have not! 🤣

I've never sat this close to the ice... what a treat!

The game got off to a slow start, but the goals began racking up in the second period. We ended up winning 5-2.

The game was so fun - and full of nostalgia for me. I used to go to games with my dad when I was a kid. The game was fast-paced and high-scoring, and the players were very amped... LOTS of fights! (Including a big one after the final buzzer)

My only disappointment: They don't play the Zamboni song anymore 😭😭😭

Year of Hiking 2024: Nos. 64 - 66

A horrible respiratory bug hit me hard the first of December, and all life stopped for a couple weeks. Fortunately, I was well enough to log a couple short hikes after Christmas to boost my mood and 2024 count!

I absolutely love this challenge because it prompts me to get outside and to also explore new places - one of my very favorite things!
