Hello friends!
I'm not doing the Race for the Cure this year - but I am supporting my co-worker, Holly. Holly was diagnosed this summer with breast cancer and had a double mastectomy. A routine mammogram revealed the cancer.
Holly is walking in Sunday's Race for the Cure and is looking for honors. If you're looking for someone to sponsor for this year's Race, CLICK HERE and help Holly :)

Time to spin
Connie, co-worker and spin instructor extraordinaire, has graciously agreed to lead another after-school staff class! We got under way yesterday - wooho :)

I intended to go easy, but I just couldn't help myself. Danielle and Connie bring out my competitive side. It was a sweatfest - a wonderful, beautiful sweatfest ;)

No. 40
No. 40, done!
Blue Nude, by Elizabeth Rosner, is about a model and an artist. They come from different ethnic backgrounds and end up helping each other learn about themselves and heal.
It was a strange book, in that I didn't know where these seemingly unconnected stories were going. But it made sense in the end. And I kinda liked it. A departure from my favorite murder mysteries.

Peak mileage
What did you do with your Saturday morning? I ran 20 miles! I still think that's just crazy!
Yesterday, I got up about 5 a.m. to do my long, long run - the longest I'll do before my race in a couple weeks.

I kept a very steady pace as I ran my favorite long loop... twice, finishing 20.05 miles in 3:38 - a 10:54 average.
I am thrilled with my performance! Brad was supposed to finish his 10 miler and then come find me on his bike. We never found each other, so I did this all by myself! I stayed strong and kept negative thoughts out of my head. I also feel like I fueled well and have a good plan for my race. This was a good run.
After an awesome cold bath, we refueled with Native Foods Cafe. YUM!
Brad ended up with a big workout, too - a 10-mile run and then about 20 fast miles on his bike trying to track me down! :)
