Year of Hiking 2025: Nos. 52 - 55

The challenge is 52 hikes - averaging one per week. I completed mine on Sept. 7 with a trail run in Forest Park!

No. 52 - Wildwood ➡️ Dogwood ➡️ Leif ➡️ Holman ➡️ Wildwood, Sept. 7:

Brad set out to complete another section of the Pacific Crest Trail in Washington. I hiked in with him for a couple miles before leaving him to his weeklong, solo adventure.

No. 53 - PCT at Rainy Pass, Sept. 14:

Before I picked him up at the other end, I did my long run on two great paths near my hotel in Bothell.

No. 54 - North Creek Trail ➡️ Sammamish River Trail, Sept. 20:

Even though he'd just hiked 130ish miles on the PCT, Brad was itching to get back out there! So we did a quick overnight in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

No. 55 - Siouxon Creek, Sept. 27:

Three more months! :)

Happy 50th Anniversary, Mom and Dad!

Fifty years ago, Mom and Dad committed to life together:
Aug. 30, 1975

And while that time together ended long before it should have, Eryn and I wanted to celebrate what would have been Mom and Dad's 50th anniversary with a weekend in San Francisco.

Some pics from our road trip and adventure:

We hit the road after work Thursday. First stop: Ice cream and dinner (in that order!) at Rice Hill.
After a night in a sketchy Medford motel, we finished the drive to San Francisco.

A walk before seafood dinner on the wharf:

Same spot - this time on the Big Bus tour!

Giants vs Orioles, though our beloved Adley Rutschman is still on the IL and didn't play.

Giants got creamed, but they put in a position player at the end to save their pitchers, and the crowd went wild! Most fun of the whole game :)

More ice cream!

Sunday's game. There isn't a more beautiful park in MLB!

Free hats!

The wind was WILD!

This time, SF creamed Baltimore!

We headed north after the game, spending the night in Redding.

Eryn has a gift for finding excellent parking and excellent food! Our last road-trip lunch was Tino's Tacos in Roseburg:
10/10!!!
