24-hour Run for Haiti

This is Steve, a self-proclaimed Marathon Freak. On March 20, he will run for 24 hours to raise money for Haiti, with 100% of the funds going to Medical Teams International.

Steve says he'll start at 9 a.m. in Longview, Wash., and run as many miles as he can in 24 hours. He thinks he can do 95-105... WOW! Right now, he's getting per-mile pledges - like when we all did jog-a-thons in school. After he runs, he'll contact donors to collect.

"So what I'm asking of you is to commit to making a donation based on how many miles I run. For example, if you donate $0.25 per mile, and I end up running 100 miles, then you would donate $25. It's that simple!" Steve says on his Web site.

I e-mailed Steve yesterday and pledged $1 per mile. He asked that I spread the word, so I'm spreading the word!!! If you have a couple bucks to spare (or even if you don't!), please consider pitching in to help the Marathon Freak meet his goal of $20 in pledges per mile.

Here's what he needs from you:
  • Name
  • E-mail address
  • Additional contact info (phone number, etc)
  • Pledge amount per mile (or flat donation amount)

E-mail the info to haitirun2010@gmail.com. Click HERE to read more about Steve's run.
