Tiger Pride

Tigard High School celebrated academics this week: 4.0 GPA, perfect attendance, most improved, class act, etc. The event culminated Friday with an assembly to honor student achievement in the classroom. It was a wonderful time to recognize students whose hard work is not often publicly acknowledged (at least in front of the entire student body).

Toward the end of the assembly, Mom and Andy competed in Brain Bowl 2010, a trivia contest between a handful of teachers, students and administrators. The principals did very poorly, ending with negative points. The teachers gave a good showing and came in second. But the students really knew their stuff and won the contest ... much to the delight of the mostly student crowd!

Mom's listening to the question and getting ready to jump up with an answer:
Then they gave the Turnaround Awards to three students who, for whatever reasons, had rough starts to high school. But then they decided to make changes and turn around their lives, and now they are set to graduate in just a few weeks. I work with all three: two in CE2 and the other has been with me all year in Credit Recovery. I'm so proud to know Patsy, Nathan and Jose!
Yay!!!!!
