I can't resist a holiday race - especially when it's only $5!
The whole family did the Oregon Road Runners Club 5 on the 4th Friday morning in Wilsonville. Eryn and I already had red tutus, and I scored these blue-and-white striped tanks for $2 each at Old Navy. TWINS!
The race started at Mentor Graphics - right next to Brad's work at FLIR. It was small but not tiny and had a costume contest and a kids' run beforehand. There was also a raffle, and Mom won $25 to Outback!
Each runner/walker received a small pie and a popsicle to celebrate.
Brad LOVES pie, and since he's also the only one in the group who can stand to eat 430-calorie snacks, everyone gave him their pies. And then before we left, the organizers told us to take what was left. I think Brad ended up with 19 pies!!! He is very happy.
Notice a theme?
:)
Brad and I rode our bikes to the race and parked inside his office building. We also rode to his work the previous day (almost 17 miles round trip). So we were both a bit tired and hot by the time we ran. Still, I worked hard and had a good race - finishing 3.11 miles in 26:07 minutes, an 8:23 average.
A great way to kick off the holiday :)
