Mom is a percussionist and decided to play bass drum for the parade. Eryn and I played clarinets in high school and college and now play handbells. Hmm... so we grabbed a cowbell and a tambourine. WOOHOO!
Just three 1-hour rehearsals were offered the week of the parade, and we could only make two of them. Good thing the tambourine part is easy!
There was some very unnecessary drama that I won't get into here. But thanks to Mom's friend, Tanya, some children were recruited to carry the banner, and the adult musicians were allowed to play in the drumline :)

Man, those sisters sure can play the tambourine!!
Mom's right in front with her drum. She rocked it even more than we did!!
My hat looks... um... what's the word? Awesome!
The parade was fun, but I think I'll skip it next year. I have lots of other volunteer opportunities that are less dramatic.
After the morning parade, we made a quick change and went to the 2011 Fantz Family Reunion at Ma and Pa's house in Tigard. Here's the gang from last year's picnic:

Then it was off to Peachwave at Bridgeport for frozen yogurt with the birthday girl:
Happy birthday, Donna!!
After filling up with sugary goodness, we packed the car and drove east to Smith Rock State Park for some rock climbing. Pictures coming soon...
