No. 26

I recently hit up the THS library's "A" shelf for my next pick.

It took me a long time to get into LJ Adlington's The Diary of Pelly D. I wanted to quit, but I wouldn't let myself - and I'm glad.

This one was sci fi, a genre I never read. I didn't really get it at first. Because there was no context, no explanation, for this "other world" stuff, I just didn't understand. But by the last third, things were starting to pick up and make sense. And there ended up being quite a lesson about racism and discrimination and civil war. Captivating and very sad.

I still don't think sci fi is for me, but this one turned out OK :)
