Brad and I had a really fun date night Thursday, spurred by the opening of a new restaurant and free movie passes.
Native Foods Cafe opened this week at Bridgeport Village. I recently read online about the vegan spot and was thrilled to learn that they were opening one about a mile from my house!
We settled on splitting the Nuevo Native Nachos:
And the special, the Oklahoma Bacon Cheeseburger:
The special came with a free side, and Brad chose sweet potato fries - one of his favorites.

Because it's brand new, we were also offered samples of their specialty lemonade and watermelon drinks and the pumpkin pie. The food was very good! And the prices were really reasonable.
We will definitely come back.
At work I scored two free tickets for an advanced screening of War Horse, due out next month, I think. And buy 1, get 1 froyo for dessert!
I think the movie was lame. There were some strange foley and cinematography choices, and the plot was overly dramatic and unrealistic. Truly, the message I got was not the story of a boy and his miraculous horse. Instead, it just reiterated that war is horrible.
But, a free movie is a free movie. Thanks, DreamWorks!
It was really cold when the movie ended (2.5 hours later!), but we had a coupon for free froyo!!! Bundled up, we walked across Bridgeport Village to the new Yogurtland next to Saks.
We tried a bunch of samples and then settled on pistachio, red velvet batter, chocolate and cran-rasberry something.
Not very good. We strongly disliked most of the flavors and only kinda liked a couple of them. We decided we'd stick with Peachwave across the street in the future.
Despite the blah movie and the yucky froyo, we had a really fun date night... and all for about $20! :)
