Tree time

Finally... we have a tree!

With this year's early Thanksgiving and then a THS playoff football game, our annual tree hunt happened just last weekend on Dec. 8. We loaded up Mom and Dad's truck and headed back to a small family farm on Bell Road off Highway 99W between Sherwood and Newberg.

Found a grand fir for us:
Mom and Dad got a giant tree for their vaulted living room, and Eryn got a regular tree and a tiny tree for her hallway.
I brought my Christmas Car-i-oke kit with a CD and lyric books for all the passengers. It was an epic sing along! We ended up doing our best operatic renditions of the classics.
Eryn's tiny table-top tree:
Sunday, we gathered at Mom and Dad's for snacks and to decorate their monstrosity. Turned out pretty good, I think!
We got ours up and lit, but it sat naked until we finally had time Wednesday night to hang the ornaments. Now the house is finally ready for Christmas!
(And Linus is locked safely in kitty prison so we don't have a repeat of the year-of-the-cat-pee trees. Yes, I said trees - plural)

:)
