Going backward, here...
Mother's Day (also Eryn's birthday!) started with a handbell performance at NFC. That means getting up super early and picking up Eryn, Mom and then Phil to drive to Newberg for a 7:30 a.m. call time.
The THS musical closed Saturday night, so like any teenage cast member, Phil helped strike the set and then attended an all-night party. He was still awake when we picked him up at 7 a.m. Then he promptly fell asleep in the car on the way.
Then he slept while we set up the bells. Then he slept after our run-through. Then he slept between services. We enjoyed the snores:
Next up: an outdoor concert by the Tualatin Valley Community Band, in which Mom plays the timpani.
Oswego Hills Winery was a beautiful setting, though it was awfully hot sitting in the sun on the hottest day fo the year:
The band sounded great. I really liked the song choices - very grand and harmonious.
Good job, Mom!
Then it was time for a BBQ at Mom's house in honor of the birthday girl and the moms and grandmothers in the group:
